Day 1:ARUSHA – TANZANIA SAFARI GATEWAY

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will be greeted by a Kibo Guide Team Member and driven to Arusha. Enjoy the afternoon at Rivertrees Country Inn or explore the surrounding forest on foot for a self guided birding tour.

Overnight at Rivertrees Country Inn on Bed & Breakfast Basis.

Day 2: WEST – KILIMANJARO & MASAI

After breakfast depart to your camp on the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy a Hot Lunch with a spectacular view onto the open savannah. In the afternoon visit the local Masai Boma and learn about their tradition and their way of life.

Day 3: WEST – KILIMANJARO : GAME DRIVES & BUSH SKILLS 

Game Drives in Sinya, a private concession, which borders Amboseli National Park in Kenya. Elephants are regularly seen as they cross between the sumps of Amboseli and the acacia woodlands on Tanzanian ground in search for water and food. Do you want to learn how the ancient forefathers made fire and useful tools? In the afternoon your guide will demonstrate and teach you in the essential survival skills and ingenious traditional ways of crafting.

Day 4: TARANGIRE REGION : BUSH WALK WITH DUNG ANALYZE

After breakfast depart to Maramboi Tented Camp with arrival for Hot Lunch. In the afternoon enjoy a guided Bush Walk to the Manyara Lake Shore and learn about this Ecosystem. Although good game viewing is often more difficult on foot sightings, it still can be incredibly rewarding and your local guide will explain the little things, the birds, the insects and the ecology. Your children will learn how to analyze animal tracks .

Day 5: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK : GAME DRIVES & WEAVING

In the morning drive with picnic-lunch to Tanzania’s third largest National Park for Game Drives. Tarangire National Park offers are large elephant population and the majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the Park. In the afternoon visit woman from the local community and learn how baskets are woven.

Day 6: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast continue to Lake Manyara National Park. Although this National Park is small in size, it still offers are large number of animal species and a large variety of habitats: acacia woodlands, water forests, baobab strewn cliffs, hot springs, swamps and the lake itself. In the afternoon drive up the Rift Valley to Karatu Town. Enjoy your evening at the Lodge, while your little master chef gets creative in the Farm House kitchen making finger licking treats.

Day 7:VISIT HADZABE AND DATOGA TRIBE

Day-Trip to Lake Eyasi and visit the Hadzabe Bushmen, where you will learn how they hunt using bows and arrows made from the willow tree and how they gather their food. This tribe is very primitive and a visit to them is an unforgettable experience. In the afternoon visit the Datoga People, who are more sedentary as they practice agriculture and keep livestock. It is sometimes possible to see a group of men crafting metal arrowheads or earrings and bracelets using primitive hand bellows to stoke the open fires.

Day 8:NGORONGORO CRATER & FARM WALK

After breakfast depart with picnic-lunch and visit the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the 100-square-mile crater and view game on the vast grasslands of the crater floor. Local wildlife includes the black manned lion, the highly endangered black rhino, wildebeest, zebra, elephant, hippo, hyena and many more. The bird life is also prolific with flocks of flamingos on the soda lake as well as other species of water birds. Return to your lodge in the afternoon for a guided Farm Walk with an introduction to the cultivation of coffee.

Day 9: OLDUPAI GORGE AND SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Morning drive to the Serengeti plains, stopping en route at the Olduvai Gorge where Mary Leakey discovered the remains of Australopithecus Homo habilis and Homo erectus. Enjoy the stunning panorama views on top of Naabi Hill, home to a vast variety of colorful lizards, 20

before departing to the heart of the Serengeti. Serengeti is perhaps the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world. These vast, seemingly unending plains are inhabited during the migration by enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra. The herds attract the attention of predators like lion, cheetah and hyena. Another interesting feature of the Serengeti is the massive granite kopjes, islands of rock standing in a sea of grass. The kopjes provide shelter to a great variety of plants and animals, from the elusive leopard to the tiny dik dik. Exploration of the legendary park is mostly by vehicle.

Day 10: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK AND STAR GRAZING

Serengeti is perhaps the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world. These vast, seemingly unending plains are inhabited during the migration by enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra. The herds attract the attention of predators like lion, cheetah and hyena. Another interesting feature of the Serengeti is the massive granite kopjes, islands of rock standing in a sea of grass. The kopjes provide shelter to a great variety of plants and animals, from the elusive leopard to the tiny dik dik. Exploration of the legendary park is mostly by vehicle. At night spot comets, stars, and listen to the stories the ancient forefathers attributed to the constellations, while observing the mythical African sky’s together with your whole family and local guide.

Day 11: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK & SUNDOWNER

Morning and afternoon Game Drives in Serengeti National Park. Visit the Serengeti visitor’s center and learn about the Wildebeest Migration. Its routes, life track, grazers and predators following it as well as the research the Grzimek father and son have devoted to the conservation of wildlife. In the afternoon you will fall in love once more with the beautiful Serengeti scenery while enjoying your Private Sundowner.

Day 12: RETURN TO ARUSHA

Enjoy your last morning in the Serengeti. Depart to Seroerna Airstrip after breakfast, and fly out to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Zanzibar Airport for beach extension
