African Travel Leadership Built on Experience, Resilience & Vision
Koncept Africa is guided by leadership shaped through more than three decades of global travel and tourism experience.
At the heart of the organisation is Mr. Jayesh Ashar, an accomplished business leader and travel industry veteran with over 33 years of hands-on experience in international tourism, destination management, and multi-country operations.
This depth of experience is not theoretical. It has been built through real-world challenges, global disruptions, operational growth, and long-term industry engagement.
Koncept Africa stands on a foundation of African travel leadership rooted in credibility, resilience, and strategic thinking.
Meet the Founder – Mr. Jayesh Ashar
Professionally trained as an accountant, Mr. Jayesh Ashar began his career with a strong grounding in financial strategy, operational discipline, and business management. Over time, he transitioned into the global travel and tourism industry, where he built a reputation for structured growth, strategic insight, and operational excellence.
He successfully founded and scaled Pearl Tourism & Leisure Group (PTLG) from a startup into a multi-national organisation operating across five countries and employing 19 professionals.
Under his leadership, PTLG expanded its footprint internationally, developed cross-border partnerships, and built a diversified portfolio across tourism and related services.
His career reflects not only expansion, but endurance.
Navigating Global Disruptions With Resilience
Over the past three decades, the travel industry has experienced significant global disruptions. Mr. Ashar has navigated and led through some of the most challenging periods in modern tourism history, including:
The aftermath of 9/11
The SARS outbreak
The 2008 global financial crisis
Economic slowdowns and regional instability
Operational setbacks and entrepreneurial learning curves
These events shaped a leadership philosophy built on:
Adaptability
Risk management
Strategic restructuring
Long-term thinking
Operational resilience
This experience is critical in African safari planning, where regional logistics, international travel variables, and seasonal unpredictability require strategic oversight.
Recognised Industry Credibility
In February 2014, Mr. Ashar was voted among the 100 Most Influential Persons of the Indian Travel Fraternity in a national poll conducted by Fairfest and NDTV Profit.
However, credibility is not defined by awards alone.
It is reflected in:
Long-standing supplier relationships
Repeat international clientele
Multi-country operational experience
Consistent execution across diverse markets
Koncept Africa builds on this legacy of trust and performance.
