The Michamvi Sunset Bay Resort is an intimate, owner-managed boutique resort located on Chwaka Bay, Zanzibar’s serene southeast coast. Set along white sandy beaches and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, it offers guests a secluded tropical getaway perfect for relaxation. With only 20 luxurious rooms, the resort ensures a highly personalized experience, where attentive staff treat every guest to VIP service.
Designed for those seeking both tranquility and adventure, the resort combines barefoot luxury with authentic Zanzibari charm. The resort is small and boutique, with 20 rooms only, divided into these categories:
Standard Rooms- Garden or partial sea view
- Air-conditioned, ensuite bathroom, terrace or balcony
- Closer to the beach with sea views
- Larger layouts, upgraded décor, private terraces/balconies
- Interconnected rooms or larger units suitable for families
- Same amenities as deluxe, with additional bedding
Suites
Ocean Front Suites
- Located closest to the beach with uninterrupted views of Chwaka Bay.
- Spacious bedroom with king-size bed and lounge area.
- Private terrace or balcony with seating, ideal for watching sunsets.
- Ensuite bathroom with modern fittings, walk-in shower, and double vanity.
- Amenities: air-conditioning, minibar, safe, mosquito net, tea/coffee setup, Wi-Fi.
- Larger than deluxe rooms with partial ocean or garden views.
- Open-plan design with extended seating area.
- Ensuite bathroom with upgraded amenities
- Terrace/balcony for private outdoor relaxation.
- Amenities: same as Ocean Front Suites but with smaller living space.
