Kafue National Park

Duration: 3 NIGHTS / 4 DAYS
Kafue National Park is Zambia’s oldest and largest national park, encompassing a massive, diverse ecosystem in the country’s central-western region. Dominated by the Kafue River and its tributaries, the park features the spectacular Busanga Plains in the north – a seasonal floodplain that transforms into a wildlife paradise during dry months. Kafue is renowned for its exceptional predator viewing, including cheetahs rarely seen elsewhere in Zambia, alongside lions, leopards and wild dogs. The park boasts remarkable biodiversity with over 500 bird species and unusual antelope like red lechwe and roan. Despite its size and magnificence, Kafue remains one of Africa’s best-kept safari secrets. Access to Kafue is available through charter flights from Lusaka to various airstrips throughout the park, or by road transfer from Lusaka, approximately 4-5 hours to the park’s eastern gate.
Highlights:
  • – Exploring Africa’s second-largest national park with diverse ecosystems
  • – The spectacular Busanga Plains with its legendary lion and cheetah sightings
  • – Outstanding birding with over 500 recorded species in this pristine environment
